ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Agastya Satish Chandra, an 11th grader at Kendriya Vidyalaya NAD Karanja, Uran, Raigad. Welcome to my website, where I share my academic and non-academic experiences from my unique perspective. My goal is to help others learn from my experiences and make it a little easier for them to take on the challenges I've faced.
Background
I was born on May 8, 2008, in Pune, Maharashtra. My early years were spent in Ahmedabad, then Uran, and later back in Pune. The lockdown in 2020 led to a period in Solapur, after which I returned to Uran, where I currently study. Interestingly, I'm studying at the same school where both my parents graduated. My dad, Satish Chandra, hails from Pune with roots in Alappuzha, Kerala, while my mom, Poonam Chandra, is from Uran with roots in Solapur. Despite my South Indian heritage, I consider myself a Marathi fellow due to my strong ties with my mother’s family.
Academic Interests
My favorite subjects have always been Math, Science, and Social Studies. However, now in 11th grade, Math stands out as my top subject. I have represented my school in various events such as IDEATHON and the National Children's Science Congress, and I’ve secured notable ranks in the Rashtriya Bal Vigyan seminars.
Extracurricular Activities
I’m actively involved in sports, science, and public speaking events. Along with being a student representative of the Atal Tinkering Lab and a member of the National Cadet Corps, I've participated in numerous inter-house competitions and school assemblies. I was also elected as the Cultural House Vice-Captain in 10th grade and have actively contributed to various school events.
Hobbies and Personal Interests
I have a deep passion for sports and play chess online, badminton locally, and cricket on the beaches of Uran. I enjoy playing football and volleyball at school and carrom with my family. I can solve five types of Rubik's cubes and have a unique taste in music, enjoying both English hip-hop and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's qawwalis. I also dabble in beatboxing as a hobby.
Goals and Aspirations
I aspire to join the Indian Navy, inspired by my grandfathers' service at the Naval Station of Karanja and my fascination with naval officers. The pride of serving the nation and the camaraderie among the officers at the Indian Naval Academy (INA) deeply motivates me.
Beliefs
I strongly believe in learning from history, not just from textbooks but from others' experiences. This helps in understanding potential situations and making informed decisions. Another belief I hold is that "you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with," so I strive to surround myself with positive influences.
